Code of Conduct

East Bay CAMFT Code of Conduct establishes behavioral expectations and guidelines for members to maintain professionalism, respect, and integrity within our group.

1. Respect for Others: Members shall treat each other with respect, dignity, and courtesy at all times, fostering an environment of mutual trust and support.

2. Confidentiality: Members shall maintain the confidentiality of all discussions and information shared within the group, respecting the privacy and confidentiality of fellow members.

3. Active Listening: Members shall actively listen to others without interrupting, providing space for everyone to express themselves fully and respectfully.

4. Non-Judgmental Attitude: Members shall refrain from making judgments or assumptions about others' experiences, beliefs, or perspectives, maintaining an open-minded and non-judgmental attitude.

5. Professionalism: Members shall conduct themselves in a professional manner, adhering to ethical standards, boundaries, and guidelines for professional conduct in psychotherapy practice.

6. Constructive Feedback: Members shall offer feedback and constructive criticism in a respectful and constructive manner, focusing on behavior and actions rather than personal attributes.

7. Boundaries: Members shall maintain appropriate boundaries in their interactions with fellow group members, avoiding any behavior that could be perceived as invasive, coercive, or inappropriate.

8. Conflict Resolution: Members shall address conflicts or disagreements that arise within the group in a constructive and respectful manner, seeking resolution through open communication, collaboration, and compromise.

9. Attendance and Participation: Members shall attend group meetings regularly and actively participate in discussions, activities, and exercises, contributing to the overall growth and effectiveness of the group.

10. Self-Reflection and Growth: Members shall engage in self-reflection, introspection, and personal growth within the context of the group, being open to feedback, learning, and self-improvement.

11. Cultural Sensitivity: Members shall demonstrate cultural sensitivity and awareness, recognizing and respecting the diversity of backgrounds, identities, and experiences within the group.

12. Accountability: Members shall take responsibility for their words, actions, and contributions to the group, acknowledging and addressing any mistakes, misunderstandings, or conflicts that may arise.

13. Compliance with Group Guidelines: Members shall adhere to the guidelines and expectations outlined in the group's code of conduct, supporting the group's objectives and promoting a positive and inclusive group environment.

By adhering to these principles and guidelines, members of EB CAMFT can cultivate a supportive, respectful, and collaborative environment conducive to personal growth, learning, and healing.
